Emission reduction projects: from origination to Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA)
Our team helps project owners identify, develop and manage carbon projects from origination to carbon credit issuance or sale of credits (either forward or on spot). We work with project owners developing projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI) mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol, as well as Verified Emission Reduction (VER) projects.
By helping to identify and assess projects with the potential to generate substantial greenhouse gas emission reductions, and assisting in the development of regulatory documentation, we add value through the entire project cycle. In addition CarbonDesk offers advice on risk management techniques, insurance products and hedging strategies.
We help monetise carbon credits by working on behalf of project owners to identify appropriate international buyers, and assist owners to structure and negotiate an ERPA to maximise short and long term financial targets. We also work with owners of issued credits to help maximize the value from credits that may be outside the scope of their ERPA commitments.
